Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and cognitive conditions, considering their daily activities and environmental factors, to develop personalized treatment plans.
Provide evidence-based occupational therapy treatments, including therapeutic activities, adaptive techniques, and assistive devices, to help patients enhance their independence and quality of life.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals within our multi-disciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care and optimal treatment outcomes.
Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed to achieve rehabilitation goals, with a focus on promoting functional abilities and participation in meaningful activities.
Educate patients and their families on adaptive strategies, home modifications, and assistive devices to support their daily functioning and maximize independence.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including treatment plans and progress reports, while adhering to all professional, ethical, and legal standards to ensure patient confidentiality and privacy.
Stay informed about advancements in occupational therapy techniques and participate in professional development activities.
Requirements:
Licensed Occupational Therapist in Canada, with current registration in good standing.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
Proven experience in providing effective occupational therapy treatments and rehabilitation services.
Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills, with the ability to create individualized treatment plans.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and work effectively within a team.
Empathy, compassion, and a genuine interest in helping patients achieve their goals in daily living and meaningful activities.
A commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on the latest research and trends in occupational therapy.
Strong organizational skills to manage caseload efficiently and maintain accurate records.
Knowledge of additional modalities or certifications, such as sensory integration, hand therapy, or cognitive rehabilitation, is a plus.
